Shola Ameobi, a second-half substitute, produced a moment of his own brilliance as he took the ball on the left hand side of the box and rifled a drive past the helpless Brad Friedel. Rafael van der Vaart opened the scoring from the spot after Steven Taylor was judged to have brought down Emmanuel Adebayor. The Premier League Newcastle vs Tottenham clash ended in a 2-2 draw, but it was an entertaining game.
